I specialize in concerns including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, LGBTQ issues, grief, relationship difficulties, sexuality, gender, life transitions, and men's issues.
Healing and transformation rests on the trust and support of the therapeutic relationship. I prioritize building an authentic relationship where you feel safe to be vulnerable without judgment. I aim to help you work through the core of your issues, not just a quick fix. I specialize in body-oriented psychotherapy that includes analysis of both the mind and body to deepen your understanding of your issues and to facilitate change. Working with the body can engender more meaningful awareness, symptomatic relief and transformation.

My areas of interest include motivation, relationships, self esteem, men's issues, & identity.
Navigating life’s circumstances can be complicated and challenging. Although we must find the strength to get past the roadblocks in our lives, we don’t have to do it alone. Therapy can help us get to know ourselves so that we can find new ways to respond when the pressure of modern living becomes too much. My aim as a therapist is to partner with you on a journey of self-discovery so that you can find satisfaction and thrive. I believe therapy can help us uncover subtle beliefs and patterns that shape our daily experiences. With greater awareness, we gain the tools to enact positive change and remodel relationships.

With over 15 years’ experience as a bilingual Psychotherapist working with very diverse populations from adults to adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD I learned that not everyone feels comfortable going to speak to a therapist in a traditional setting like an office. This is why I offer “Walk Talk Therapy” and mobile therapy. I want to eliminate as many barriers as possible for you to get the help you need. Just as we are all encouraged to exercise for our physical health, I believe everyone should connect with a professional therapist to strengthen one’s emotional health.

When you're experiencing a challenging time in your life, time may feel as though it is standing still. The pain from life's rough patches can easily cause you to feel hopeless. Sometimes, there simply are no "right or wrong" answers, but solutions may be closer in reach than you think. My goal is to help you navigate through challenges - the grey areas - that make you feel powerless. I hope to help you discover meaning and your own unique center of gravity that will positively change the way you view yourself, others, and the world.

I have over a decade of experience helping clients feel seen, connected, and inspired to become better versions of themselves. My passion is helping anyone who feels stigmatized for who or how they love to discover the best parts of themselves and learn to become more present, and more compassionate with themselves and others. I use evidence-based techniques to help you learn how to shift your energy from sources of frustration and sadness and refocus that energy on sources of love, gratitude, and joy.

Do you want to be supported as you undertake the vital and very human project of exploring and growing? I'm a white, queer, gender-expansive native West Coaster who’s called NYC home for more than 20 years. A background in writing and theater has given me a deep interest in the human experience and the ways we endeavor to become our best selves. I was drawn to therapy in order to support people in discovering and using their strengths to reach that goal. I also provide an affirming space for LGBTQ+ folks to gain renewed self-compassion and authenticity by better understanding how negative messaging might impact your sense of self.

Affirming queer identity is an essential part of my practice as is social justice and liberation from oppressive systems. With a focus on mental health, trauma, and substance use within the LGBTQ community, I work primarily with queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming people of color. Our work together is focused on your needs and goals. Through my background as a writer, I understand the value of a supportive space to explore feelings. In our sessions, you'll find a safe environment for self-expression and personal reflection. From this foundation, insights emerge and growth takes place.

I help individuals who are interested in working at a deep level and who seek transformation and abiding change. I aim to help people find more than just relief from the immediate concerns that lead them to enter psychotherapy, whether they be depression, anxiety, relationship problems, occupational/academic concerns, or other difficulties. I thus actively work from the ground up to help my clients develop more self-understanding, greater tolerance for distress, and a newfound security in their capacity to confront life's innumerable challenges.

Sometimes life does not seem to go how you would like it to. It may feel like everything is building up and you may explode into tears. Perhaps it seems as though the more you have going on the more you feel like not doing anything at all and when you aren’t doing anything you still feel like you should be doing something. Sometimes we find ourselves being overworked and underappreciated not only by other people around us but within ourselves as well.

Oftentimes, people just need someone to listen to them, to help them work through an issue, and sort out their feelings. That's where I come in as a licensed psychotherapist as well as a medical social worker. I'm skilled at hearing what people are saying and helping them to figure out strategies for improving their situation. I work with a variety of clients ---men, women and children from all sexualities, gender identities, and races to help them with all sorts of issues. My clientele ranges in ages; however, a majority of my clients are in their early 30's.

Men's Issues Therapists

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?

Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?

Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?

One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
