A child’s behavior is telling a story of what is going on inside. Many times, when our kids are reaching out for connection, they will behave in ways that create the opposite response. When a child is struggling to find positive ways to relate, our team of therapists come alongside them and their family to help them feel more understood, empowered, connected and loved. I believe in conducting therapy in partnership with families, pediatricians, teachers, and other specialists to ensure that each child receives a personalized treatment plan that is reinforced in all settings.
We specialize in treating anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, anger, depression, divorce, behavioral problems and regulation disorders, as well as with adopted children. Michelle is a Certified Clinical Trauma Counselor and a member of the Association of Play Therapy, and International Association of Trauma Professionals. She is also trained in EMDR.
We work with the children who are mislabeled as the “problem child” and help them channel their emotions and behaviors to where they can connect with others. We come alongside parents who have reached the end of their rope and help them connect in positive ways and find new understandings in their relationships with their children.

5-6 year old Social Skills Group
In these social skills groups, our goal is both educate on social skills, help each child practice these skills during group and allow a child to experience what healthy relationship building looks like. MCFT now uses the Social Express Curriculum! Social Express uses research-based lessons allow users to interactively work through real-life situations. Our unique animated programs help drive learning and success in and out of the classroom.
