Melvin D Dowdy
Psychologist, PhD, MDiv, MA
Location
As you consider a therapist search for someone who seems to value the things you value, someone who will want to support your life goals; listen to your own sense of who can get you started on the road to healing, recovery, or flourishing; focus on your need to understand what you really want and how to start getting more out of your life. I take time with my clients to be sure we have the right fit and that we know you are in the right place in the first few sessions.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and certified pastoral counselor with 48 years of clinical experience. I focus on the client's experience as they live today - what's working, not working, what's missing, & how to live a more attentive, mindful life that is very honest about their values.
Clients schedule appointments through email or by calling my office. I no longer accept direct payment from insurance companies but am willing to assist with appropriate forms. My fee is set on a sliding scale ranging from $75 - $130. I practice primarily on Tuesdays, 9am to 6 pm and Wednesdays, 10 am to 6 pm. My office allows for social distancing sessions.
