I have 40 years of sobriety and am experienced working with people with substance abuse issues, as well as having Certificate In Jungian Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with adolescents and Young Adults. What makes my practice unique is my personal and professional background in disabilities that goes decades in Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, hearing and vision impairments, severe mental illness (psychosis) and cerebral palsy. While I have worked with families and children in the Southwest and Baltimore helping to meet their multitude of needs for intervention and education. In addition,
I work with children and/or with parents in the areas of disabilities doing parent and child education for behaviors, socialization, basic skills, and academics. My approach is positive based applications (TF-CBT and CBT). I also have experience working with persons of all ages with substance abuse issues as I have 40 years of sobriety.
Special factors include having the personal experience paired with the academic education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In addition I have a Behavior in Autism certification that emphasizes that positive approaches to maladaptive behaviors. I also am certified in TF-CBT, basic level EMDR, and Certificate In Jungian Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
