Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm a licensed counselor in both Washington, DC and CO, and I'm based Denver. As a therapist, I aim to be an ally and a trusted source of support to sit with you through your pain and uncertainty. I've worked with patients and healthcare professionals in a trauma hospital, with members of the U.S. foreign service, and with humanitarians who live and work in high-stress environments. As a mom and spouse of a veteran, I also understand parenting and military-specific challenges. Further, I have extensive experience in grief and trauma.
I take a person-centered approach, which means I will meet you wherever you are on your mental health journey, and I also like to introduce practical tools to help you notice your progress in our work together. I am comfortable offering short-term, solutions-focused counseling and working with those needing or wanting long-term support.
Whether you're looking for someone to support you through a difficult time, relationship, or situation, or you want to dig deeper into your life and search for meaning, connection, or understanding, I invite you to reach out to see if I'd be a good fit for you. I am licensed in both Colorado and Washington, D.C.
