Hello I am Melissa McManis, LCSW; Trained in EMDR and the Somatica Method of Sex Therapy and Coaching. I specialize in helping individuals navigate the sensitive issues related to erotic recovery and sex for clients who have experienced sexual trauma. Many of my clients struggle with shame. You may experience a range of issues related to your sexuality, such as: anxiety or depression related to your sexual experiences, sexual avoidance and/or relationship issues related to sexuality or intimacy.
My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your negative cognitions related to your sexual trauma and reconnect with connection and pleasure. In working together, we can focus on helping you cultivate deeper connections with others and learn how to have sexually and emotionally more fulfilling experiences with others.
This is vulnerable work! Through EMDR and/or somatic work, I will help desensitize your trauma reactions. I will then teach you skills to help you connect more fully with yourself and others and reclaim your sexuality and ability, and expand your pleasure potential.
