Melissa has experience working with adults, college age students, and adolescents. Melissa’s counseling style combines strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, emotional focused and solution-focused approaches to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. Identifying one's strengths and the coping skills that can be used to help work through various issues is an important part of her therapy approach.
Melissa values each individual therapeutic relationship and empathizes with the different emotions a client experiences in treatment. She believes each individual has the ability to overcome struggles and that having additional support in the form of therapy can help one to better identify and recognize the coping skills and strengths they already possess.
