Hello, I specialize in working with those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Grieving is a very painful and difficult process. As Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, a grief specialist, would say, "The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not 'get over' the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to."
You do not have to grieve alone. I use a combination of supportive and humanistic therapy approaches to help you with the grieving process. Supportive therapy is more practical and focuses on emotional stability, symptom relief, and building coping skills. Humanistic therapy is deeper, which emphasizes personal growth and self-awareness.
Aside from grief work, I also provide psychodynamic therapy, on a more limited basis. This is a form of depth talk therapy that explores our unconscious thoughts and past experiences to help us understand our current behaviors, emotions, and relationships.
