My name is Melissa J. Pena, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Modesto, California and working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I have work with adolescents and mostly specialize in depression, stress, anxiety and ADHD using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and teaching social skills to help improve the functioning of my clients. My experience in the field has been working with adolescents and young adults who are dealing with challenges in the home, school or community setting.
I have found that my approaches have been helpful in decreasing symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress and ADHD as well. I work with my clients to explore healthy coping skills, communication techniques and social skills in order to improve their overall functioning.
I know from a young age that I wanted to become a therapist to help others. Being able to assist and support my clients and their families has been what drives me to do this career every day.
