Hello, I am Dr. Melissa Garrett-Moultrie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Spring, Texas, with over 20 years of experience. I work with adults, adolescents, families, and couples. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, family conflict, parenting problems, grief and loss, gender identity, sexual trauma, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. My counseling style is warm, compassionate, direct, and interactive. My approach to therapy varies based upon the needs of my client. I most frequently use Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In using Client-Centered-Therapy.
I believe in unconditional positive regard, which means I am empathetic and non-judgmental. In using CBT and DBT, I will be able to help you work on changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to produce a more fulfilling life and the importance of accepting who you are as a person but changing your behavior at the same time.
