Children often do not have the words or the ability to tell you what is going on with them, how they feel or why they are acting the way they are. I work with children ages 12 and under who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and problem behaviors. My goal is allow them to communicate in their own way, through play, to process and resolve trauma, explore emotions and learn ways to redirect inappropriate behaviors.
As a registered play therapist, I use play to help children explore emotions, deal with unresolved trauma, and learn new coping mechanisms to redirect inappropriate behaviors. I also offer PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) for children 7 and under and their caregivers.
My goal is to allow children a safe place to come and express themselves freely, and with guidance and support allow them to heal and grow in their emotional development, improve their relationships, and become successful in all areas of their lives.
