My name is Melissa Erb, and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Diego, California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and adolescents specializing in managing anxiety, depression and life changes. I also specialize in the area of adoption and foster care. By using various treatment modalities such as Mindfulness Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, this helps in meeting my clients "where they are at." This also creates an approach for clients to begin at the pace they feel comfortable with.
I have found that by using the above-mentioned treatment modalities, it helps adults and young adults who are facing difficult life transitions. Whether, it is struggling with intimate break ups, divorce, career changes, loss or financial strains, this could lead to anxiety, depression, stress and at times suicidal ideation.
I focus on working with clients to build skills using brief crisis interventions or to help in building a more positive and hopeful outlook with their day to day. My communication style is to meet my clients where they are at and to have them be the expert of their story.
