As a Registered Play Therapist, I have a passion of working with young children (ages 3+) utilizing the power of play to allow children to process through challenges and experiences and to learn and practice new skills. I love working with parents to help strengthen the relationship between parent and child that can be challenging during trying times. I also work often with adults and teens to provide support though the myriad of concerns and struggles that arise throughout life with infertility being one of my specialities.
Regardless of age, I typically operate from the client-centered perspective in which I believe that you are the expert of you and that with support, encouragement, and guidance you are able to determine what fits best for your life and your situation. Essentially, I do not follow a one size fits all approach and understand that we are all unique.
I always strive to help my clients unlock insight and work together to answer some of those “why” questions that we often ask ourselves, about our experiences/responses, or about others. Groups
Child Parent Relationship Therapy
Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a 10 week structured program that was developed to be administered in a group format of 5-8 parents (can also be done with individuals/couples as well). The premise behind CPRT is enhancing the relationship between parent and child while also gaining a better understanding of one’s child. In CPRT sessions, I will teach you some of the skills that are based on Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) principles and you will get to have special play sessions with your child in which you will practice your newly learned skills.
