The therapy I offer is most effective for people who have already spent time working on themselves in therapy, spiritual practice, or by other means. My main treatment focus is developmental trauma, which means the harm caused in relationships growing up. As adults that can look like high functioning depression, anxiety, relationship problems, creative blocks, numbness/dissociation, lack of progress, and other expressions. We work with mindfulness based somatic therapy in an compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental environment using a wide array of methods. Together we will uncover the healing your body is striving to access.
Melissa graduated in 2011 from the University of Michigan - Dearborn Clinical Health Psychology Masters program. I am trained in a variety of methods including level 2 sensorimotor psychotherapy, which has overlap with Hakomi and IFS, and continue to participate in and offer ongoing study and consultation in body based healing practices.
I love working with spiritual practitioners, artists, therapists, healthcare providers, and anyone ready for transformation. Having done lots of healing work myself couples with many years experience offering therapy, I understand the innate healing capacity that lies within us all. Please note, I do NOT work with insurance companies.

Groups
New therapist consultation groups
The first 5 years in practice are extremely challenging. It might be surprising to realize how much support is really needed in these first few years. In this group we create an environment of support as we build a culture together to support transitioning into the role of therapist. Becoming a therapist is complex, and often triggers our own trauma. Part of that trauma often includes isolation and overwhelm. This group is an antidote. We combine experientials, didactics, mindfulness, and other processes to facilitate our evolution.
