Hi there, I'm Melissa! Thank you for viewing my profile. I have been practicing therapy since 1998 after receiving my Master's Degree. My practice is trauma and addiction-focused. I also work with vocational/ employment challenges. My approach is integrative and holistic, using a variety of techniques to promote self-healing. primarily work with individual adults who are working through trauma, sex addiction, betrayal, and/ or substance use disorders.
I understand the importance of establishing trust and rapport. As such, I offer a person-centered environment utilizing active listening and unconditional positive regard, free from judgment.
Our 1st session will focus on establishing rapport and obtaining the information needed to complete a bio-psychosocial assessment. I discuss evidence-based practice, begin a collaborative treatment plan, establish a follow-up schedule, and provide activities for future sessions. The session usually takes about an hour.
