Welcome! I'm Melissa, and I'm so glad you're here.
I believe there is a longing at the core of all of us; a longing to be heard, understood, loved, valued, and accepted. Let's face it, though - we all have unfinished business; whether it's with parents, siblings, in-laws, our children, abusers, bullies, co-workers, ex-spouses, or people who are out of our lives that we want back in. Over time, the baggage we carry around in our hearts and minds can overwhelm us, and we often create behaviors to cover up our pain and vulnerabilities.
Counseling is a place of trust, reflection, guidance, and unconditional acceptance.
Through the therapeutic process, you'll be encouraged to explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behaviors, improve social skills, promote relaxation and increase self-esteem. I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I very much enjoy helping people move out of ways of being that are no longer serving them!
