My desire to become a therapist started when I was a teenager, although my desire to work in a helping profession has been deeply rooted in me since childhood. A dream manifested in me over time to pursue a career in which I could help guide people, create a neutral space free of judgment, and simply be another human who can relate to how challenging the human experience can be. As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe space in which we can work collaboratively to help you meet your goals. I aim to empower my clients so they can feel in a power position in their lives, allowing them to see themselves as capable and worthy.
I have worked in a variety of settings including shelter/transitional housing for at-risk/homeless youth, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, crisis centers, and have been doing individual therapy with all ages for the past four years. I treat therapy as person-centered, meaning interventions are tailored to each individual's specific needs and wants.
Walking into an office or getting on a screen with a stranger and sharing intimate details about your life can be hard. The journey of confronting your issues, changing your habits, or sharing your story IS hard. I'm here to tell you this: you can do hard things, and I'd be honored to be part of your journey.
