I am a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst and am trained as neuropsychologist. In my work, I think about the integration of neurodevelopment and psychological development, and have a specialty working with high functioning individuals with neurodivergent profiles (ADHD, dyslexia, NVLD). I love working with adolescents and adults, particularly college students and folks in the STEM world. I was an instructor in Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School for over 20 years and am on the faculty of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute's Fellowship program.
I can help sort out the way in which neurodivergence of any kind dovetails with social and emotional functioning. Are you smart but tend to do things at the last minute? Do you feel like you have to hide the fact that you haven't done your work and feel like you're faking it? Does your inattention irritate others and get misread as disinterest?
Navigating school at any level (middle school, high school, college and beyond) can be really difficult given the social and academic demands. Maybe you are on top of your work but feel unable to connect. On the other hand, you might have a thriving social life but can't get your work done. Let's figure out why.
