Have you ever felt rooted in one spot unable to pull your feet out of the heavy mud and move forward? Maybe you had a recent disappointment? Perhaps you or your child have experienced a tragedy or loss? Or possibly, you have great ideas just waiting to surface! My goal is to create a safe space where you can develop your creative problem solving skills, renew your sense of adventure, and strengthen your sense of self. I believe in the importance of our mind-body connection and the healing nature of self expression and communication through art making.
Expressive arts therapy is a multi disciplinary support approach that focuses on our desire to shape our world—through music, theater, poetry, dance, or other artistic modality—as a tool to help create change. When words are not enough an active arts based therapeutic experience can provide an opportunity to express emotion in appropriate and positive ways.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as those facing life threatening illness related crises. I specialize in treating siblings of children with special needs, mothers in the postpartum period, and healing professionals experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue. I also provide arts based grief and bereavement support.

Art & Mindfulness for Parents
Join Melinda Ferraraccio, LCAT-lp for a 4-week art and mindfulness group aimed at helping you create space for yourself. Use art making as a tool for stress release while also learning yoga sequences that enhance mindfulness and coping. Groups meet on Fridays at 10am starting on Sept 23, 2022. The 4-week session costs $300. Insurance reimbursement may be available.
