My clients compliment my teaching, coaching & supportive therapy style over a directive approach. I offer an "old school" independent practitioner approach, with between session exercises. Clients can be seen virtually from anywhere in Virginia or Louisiana. The relationship between feelings, thoughts & behaviors is crucial to understanding issues that affect life & relationship success, therefore I integrate multiple strategies to help people make sense of their world & challenges (CBT, DBT & Experiential Learning techniques, Psychoanalytic, Person Centered / Rogerian, Holistic, Reality, Multicultural and Existential theories).
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Louisiana & Virginia. I am also a Board-Approved Supervisor to provisional licensees in both states. I earned my NCC (National Certified Counselor) in 1997 & have been practicing since. Specialties include, but are not limited to: Grief, Chronic Illness & Couples/Family Issues
Being highly educated, experienced, & qualified as a practitioner is important. I also have immense & intense personal “lived experience” in chronic & terminal physical, emotional & mental illness.
