I began my career working in inpatient substance abuse facilities attached to hospitals. I am well-versed in groups for addiction and prefer individual counseling for issues in later recovery or dual diagnosis. I see adults and motivated adolescents in my practice. Both men and women are welcome as are couples and families. Other specialty areas are sexual abuse and mood disorders.
Substance abuse, employee assistance and cognitive behavioral therapies are my specialty. I help with depression, anxiety, phobias, and mood disorders. Consultation and referrals to psychiatrists or primary care physicians when necessary, I prefer to work with clients with some sobriety or clean time. 12- step focused and AA/NA Alanon as adjunct.
I am available during daytime and some evening appointments 2 days /week. Women's issues, gay-lesbian, trans-gendered clients are welcome. I am a native Tennessean and understand our unique cultural differences and idiosyncrasies.
