My name is Melanie Roum and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the state of Louisiana. I like to provide individualized care based on your personality, background, and needs, and am able to provide various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Much of my work is Christian based. I'm looking forward to working with you!
We will start with a broad goal which gets usually gets more focused based on our conversations together. I will check in with you from time to time regarding the quality and direction of therapy. Adjustments to goals and approaches can be made with direct and honest communication.
I am a great listener in order to get to the root of the issues. I am often direct but gentle, and will offer more than one way of looking at a challenge if needed. You will find grace, kindness, and a lot of encouragement to believe in yourself and your ability to overcome anything.
