I work with individuals - especially children and adolescents - who often struggle to express what they're feeling through words alone. Many have experienced anxiety, trauma, or emotional overwhelm and need something beyond traditional talk therapy to feel safe and understood. I integrate animal-assisted counseling and play therapy because I have seen how powerful these approaches are in creating connection and healing. For many clients, it's more than just coping strategies - they need to feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgement.
My counseling approach is tailored to each client. Everyone is unique and deserves to have a plan that is individualized. I integrate different theoretic approaches keeping a humanistic approach at the forefront. I help clients look at their strengths and goals by using systems theory, strengths perspective, cognitive behavioral, and person-centered.
Often times clients come in feeling anxious about therapy. It is my goal to ensure each client feels comfortable and less anxious. To help put clients at ease I have a variety of fidget toys to fiddle with during times you feel anxious. I also have canine assistants who are able to work along side me who can help clients feel less anxious.
