As a Queer, adopted Asian American, I’m passionate about working with fellow members of the LGBTQIA2S+ and ADHD/Autism community and individuals grappling with mixed feelings about their adoption. My experiences as an intimate partner violence advocate and trauma/crisis intervention specialist have also cemented my passion for working with survivors of trauma from domestic and sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking. I believe the foundation for any successful counseling is based on a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, compassion, and humor.
I am committed to a lifelong journey of growth in multi-cultural sensitivity and humility, and being curious, not judgmental. I take humanistic and feminist approaches to counseling, and acknowledge clients as the expert in their own lives. I am also trained in EMDR, which I often use to help process trauma and challenge internalized negative self beliefs.
I will work to provide space and time for you to feel your feelings and give the thoughts that might usually stay quiet the chance to be heard, acknowledged, and valued. I'll accept and support you no matter what you bring to our counseling table. I'm also willing to work with language interpreters for ASL and non-English speaking clients.
