I have been working in the mental health field for the past 8 years and I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations in the field. I have a lot of experiencing working with youth and people who struggle with managing anxiety, depression, stress, family challenges, trauma, and substance use. I have had the opportunity to work with people in different settings like inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, community based treatment, schools , non-profit agencies, and occupational social work.
I generally practice from the cognitive-behavioral and humanistic perspective to help people to evaluate their feelings and their circumstances in relation to the world around them and to help reconstruct their thinking in relation to their challenges and past trauma.
I am able to view the whole person as an individual in relation to their problems and focus on their strengths or positive traits to help empower them to create change in their lives. I also provide solution-focused therapy to help people to strategize how to reach their goals and manage life's challenges in a healthy manner.
