Megan Smith-Sallans, MS, LIMHP, LIPC, Counselor in Omaha
I feel a lively, genuine therapeutic relationship can facilitate the process of healing and self-discovery. Most of my practice is composed of individuals who identify as living on the 'fringe' (outside of the gender binary and heteronormativity). I understand that you may not be seeking therapy because of your sexual, gender or relationship diversity, so one advantage to seeing a specialist is that I will not make it an issue if it is not a problem for you. I have years of experience working in queer communities and travel both nationally and internationally to receive and administer training.
My preferred method of practicing depends on whom I'm working with. Many people can only attend therapy once a week while others want more frequent help. The therapeutic approach I use is Relational which is focused on relationships and on creating healthy dynamics between individuals.
My practice is made up mainly of creative professionals: artists, musicians, composers, professors, writers, social workers, designers, therapists, etc. I enjoy working with gender, sexual and relationally diverse individuals, couples and families, as well as with gender expansive children (3 and up) and adolescents who identify as LGBTQ+.
