Life can be unpredictable at times and that can get overwhelming without support or the knowledge on how to navigate the new and unexpected. In working with me we will work together as a team to help you gain the knowledge and skills to help you be successful in the future. In my graduate program and first year as an associate level counselor I got a lot of experience working with neuroqueer clients from a range of youth to older adults. I have worked with those who have received a diagnosis early in life as well as those who received a diagnosis later in life and are navigating what it means to be neurodiverse.
I like to use a variety of approaches and interventions in my sessions to include a blend of newer and older approaches such as games, expressive arts, talk therapy, and mindfulness exercises. Research shows that a person’s physical health can contribute to their mental health so I will also integrate a wellness approach where it seems fit.
I understand it can be hard and scary to ask for help so I like to make my clients aware from the start that in my office you are in a safe environment to express yourself and be your authentic self. I always start with a consult so the client can be sure if they would feel comfortable with me before having to move on to booking a session.
