The struggles that bring people in therapy are myriad and each person’s situation is unique. As such, my treatment philosophy is that our work together should be driven by your goals and informed by your strengths. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you navigate any of the challenges you carry with you. Although I am a big proponent of evidence-based treatments, I believe the core of any good therapeutic experience is a strong relationship and I hope to accomplish this through warmth, humor, and transparency.
My experience has focused around PTSD and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, OCD, and social anxiety. I also work with body-focused repetitive behaviors (e.g. trichotillomania). I work with members of the LGBTQ+ community to address their needs, as well as, spouses of military members and women in the peri-partum period.
I rely strongly on evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and CBT-based therapy. I am one of a very small number of local therapists trained in the use of Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. I bring to bear personal, as well as, professional experience in many of populations and conditions I work with and treat.
