Ketamine is mostly used as a rapid, but temporary medical antidepressant. In contrast, KAP uses ketamine's psychedelic properties to amplify somatic (mind-body) therapy targeting the underlying roots of most mental health disorders. Unlike shamanic retreats or integration coaching, which can't prevent "bad trips," vague results, destabilization, or spiritual bypassing (mystical experiences but no growth), KAP maximizes change at the best pace for you. The result is new insight, symptom relief, and foundational course correction. If it's the wrong time in life to unpack your issues, I can connect you to standard ketamine treatment.
To prepare your mind for positive ketamine experiences, I combine Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Jungian active imagination therapies. Integration therapy between ketamine treatments makes new connections, and supports vulnerability that may arise. Despite prep, KAP may still be too high risk for Borderline PD or early substance addiction recovery.
Most people assume KAP means therapist-guided ketamine experiences, but that typically isn't needed with this approach. Ketamine treatments are out-of-pocket, but preparation and integration therapy is insurance-billable. The amount of preparation needed before starting ketamine varies. Please see my website for more info. I'm grateful to do this deep work.
