Reaching out to a therapist is hard. So first, take a moment to commend yourself for prioritizing your wellbeing - it is difficult, even for me as a therapist! I believe that we all have a desire for genuine relational connection. However, our past experiences (eg. oppression, trauma, relational disconnections) inform our strategies of survival (eg. perfectionism, addiction, avoidance), which paradoxically leave us feeling dysregulated, isolated, or stuck in painful relationships. I see therapy as a space where you and I can co-create an open & authentic relationship, which will help us explore and heal your current life stressors.
In 1-1 therapy, I integrate various therapy modalities to address anxiety, depression, relationship concerns (eg. romantic, family, friendships, work settings), sexual concerns, trauma (eg. abuse, complex trauma, identity-based trauma), immigrant stress, OCD, disordered eating, and adjustment difficulties (life transitions, fertility/pre/postnatal, grief).
In relationship and sex therapy, I use EFT & RCT to co-create a space for partner(s) to come together and work on challenges. I serve as a keen observer, paying attention to underlying dynamics; and a gentle guide, helping you and your partner(s) understand each other’s wounds, build safety, and co-regulate nervous systems.
