I am a seasoned psychotherapist with an office in charming Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. I have been in practice for over 20 years. I have a PsyD in psychoanalysis and am a licensed clinical social worker with the necessary credentials for reimbursement by insurance. My therapeutic style is warm and interactive. I have many patients working in artistic fields who need a creative therapist. Additionally, I do couples work using emotionally focused therapy. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including: depression, anxiety and panic attacks, infertility, divorce, parenting teens and LGBTQ issues.
I am comfortable working with people where they are: whether in a moment of crisis or seeking long-standing characterological change. I encourage people to talk about the difficult things that are holding them back.
I have a background as a writer and in publishing and enjoy using literary metaphors as a way to understand clients' dilemmas and to empower them to conquer their dragons.
