As the founder of Stella Luna Counseling and Wellness Center (SL), I honor your desire to begin or continue along your therapeutic journey. I understand that aligning with your therapist is essential in establishing a deep connection with your work, and will motivate you to come to therapy more regularly to authentically explore the challenges that are coming up for you. I create a space where clients are encouraged to become the observer of their life experience, safely process their feelings and vulnerabilities, and tap into their truth. At SL, we specialize in trauma, and offer psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.

I am passionate about working to connect with clients from all walks of life. I know how difficult finding a balance in work and home life can be, as I navigate being a wife and a mother to an energetic child. With my clients I focus on providing a safe space for each individual to express and honor their voice to help establish and reconnect with each client’s own voice to honor your story and regain a better understanding of self with compassion. I received MS in Counseling &Art Therapy from Ursuline College. In 15 years, including in Cleveland Clinic hospitals, I have been inspired by my clients’ resilience even in dark times.

Everyone deserves the chance to heal and become their best self. I want to help support you on that journey. I believe in an empowerment lens and use that in my approach when working with individuals. I am identity-affirming and trauma-informed in my practice.

Life can be overwhelming. We all need some dedicated time to nurture and heal. Why should someone hire a therapist rather than just talk through their problems with a friend or family member? First of all, if you have someone in your life to whom you feel comfortable opening up, that is awesome. Keep doing that. We all need these vital human connections. As a Marriage & Family therapist, I'm attuned to clients’ interconnected webs of relationships even when working 1-on-1. My experience & training with families & couples enables me to walk with clients through (re)discovering their connectedness to those they love. I’m most passionate about exploring clients’ stories & listening for places where personal narratives might differ from others’. This often provides spaces for clients to explore new or neglected understandings of themselves & their relationships leading to preferred, more fulfilling future stories. I enjoy working with clients across cultural, sexual& gender identities.

I believe the key to successful therapy is meeting clients where they are at in life and acknowledging and accepting that change takes work and courage, especially when we are working on bettering ourselves. There is something profound when one can take a step back and realize how they would like to change in order to live a fulfilling and happy life.

In complex trauma things were never okay and just continued to get worse. The subtle feeling that something is not right escalates into a bulldozer of concerning or scary symptoms. You may struggle with feelings of numbness, disconnection, and emptiness. Or you may feel everything too loudly and all at once. Your best attempt at survival might be compulsive behaviors or substance use. And you might have done things that you regret. Life has not been easy for you, and now you want to stop the cycle.

Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you have faced, there is nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. I believe that all people have an innate wisdom and knowledge to make good choices for their lives. Sometimes we just need a little additional support, insight, tools and a fresh perspective to see with clarity.

We all need support at times. I cater my approach based on the needs of each individual and my goal is to help navigate change or obstacles while fostering growth. I am trauma-informed and my approach to therapy is warm and person-centered. The idea of processing and working through trauma can be overwhelming. You are the expert on yourself, and I aim to provide a space where you can be authentic and feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I recognize how challenging it can be to step into the process of healing and change and I work to meet you wherever you may be emotionally, mentally, and physically. I strive to make the therapy process feel safe and approachable. I use compassion, humor, empowerment, and curiosity to create a supportive environment and to work collaboratively with you. We will work together in navigating barriers and challenges and mapping out the next steps that are best for you in your journey. I have a calm and relatable style and prioritize developing an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship with you.
