I have many years of experience helping adolescents, young adults, adults, families and parents function more effectively in their relationships and in the world. Rather than focus on diagnoses or symptoms, I prefer to see a client as whole person and to help them unearth the roots of their patterns. It takes bravery, commitment, and compassion to face our pain and transform our relationship to it. By letting go of past emotional burdens, we can then work to change the behaviors that result from them. I am committed to creating a strong working relationship with my clients, which is a precursor to successful therapeutic outcomes.
To facilitate growth, I help people see their problems from a new perspective and to change their relationship to their issues. Experiential tools like guided imagery, metaphor, timelines, empty chair dialogues, and transpersonal approaches within the context of a safe therapeutic relationship can foster the experience that the true healer is within.
I have long held an interest in the power of non-ordinary states of consciousness to transform our deepest wounds. Wilderness therapy, transpersonal work, shamanic journeying, and the burgeoning field of psychedelic-assisted therapy can offer powerful experiences for change. I am currently pursuing additional training in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
