We’re unfortunately not born with a manual on how to live life. It’s unpredictable complexities jolt us out of the path we had so carefully planned for ourselves, and leave us in a place of feeling lost. These obstacles can appear in various ways; parenting, relationships, work, loss, violence, and sometimes do not appear at all except for a knot in our stomach. What does one do when the next step is not clear? It is in these moments of uncertainty where I can be of help. There is no right or wrong reason, or person, for therapy; it is an opportunity to put life on pause for an hour, while we work together to uncover the next step.

Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy has helped me tremendously in working with couples and individuals. I enjoy couples counseling, helping partners to see their trauma in the marriage. Teaching couples their negative cycle and how to work through their pain. I believe that trauma is the root of our issues and how we use our dysfunction to learn to deal with life. Depression, anxiety, addiction can all be linked back to childhood traumas or other life traumas. I also work with individuals as well as teenagers.

It's important to me that you feel better as soon as possible. I work with a range of clients from children to elders. I've worked extensively with children and teens who are challenged with depression or anxiety due to school pressures, ADHD, peer problems, divorce, abuse or trauma, as well as loss and grief. I understand that events from the past can negatively impact how you are living today. I've worked a lot with adults abused as children, adult children of alcoholics or drug addicts, and individuals with mentally ill family members.

I am a psychoanalytically trained therapist with a long history working upon addiction, relationship, self-discovery issues. I promote consciousness, and honesty.

I believe everyone’s experience is unique and I work from a relational, culturally competent, warm, and nonjudgmental way. I have over 10 yrs of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults with trauma (including sexual and physical abuse), depression, anxiety, and academic and behavioral issues.

Life offers us many obstacles along the way and it is my practice to walk with my clients through dark days and confusing times to support new growth and balance in their lives.
