You hold everything together for everyone—until one small, unexpected moment unravels it all. The mental load becomes too much, and you feel like you’re losing your grip. You don’t need to be stronger or better; you need a nervous system that feels safe. I help clients build practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and major life transitions, while strengthening emotional regulation and relationships. With these skills, you will begin feeling safe in your own body, not constantly braced for the next thing to go wrong. Triggers still happen, but they don’t take you out all day – you can return to center faster.

Often the hardships we meet in our external worlds move us to explore our internal selves: how we think, what our feelings mean to us, how we relate to others, and why we make the choices we do. I provide a deeply compassionate, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their relationships with important people in their lives, with the world around them, and with themselves. With you, the client, as the expert of your own experience and with the therapist as a skillful and caring helper, profound self-discovery and healing are possible.

Congratulations on having the courage to change and to ask for help. Life can be a stressful process for all of us. Sometimes we feel alone and afraid and wish we had someone to talk to outside of our immediate family and friends. Perhaps we've tried the same behaviors over and over and wonder why we don't have different results. It can be very helpful to talk to someone who can look at our concerns and difficulties from a different perspective and shed new light. Once we feel deeply understood and become more mindful of our own values and beliefs, we are able to try new healthier behaviors that help us get our needs met in life.

Therapy isn’t about me handing you a magic answer—it’s about helping you discover your own. This is where you get to build the life you actually want, not what you’ve been told it should be. I like to bring humor and lightness when it works but I’m also not afraid to sit with you in the tough, messy stuff that usually leads to growth.
I’ve worked with folks dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, and relationship ups and downs—the ones we have with others, and the relationship we have with ourselves. I keep sharpening my skills through ongoing training with the Integrative Sex Therapy Institute to offer sex positive support.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
