I have been helping people for over 20 years in the healthcare field and I have extensive experience diagnosing and treating mental illness and substance abuse in inpatient and outpatient settings. I have extensive experience using multiple therapeutic modalities and I use several to create a unique and personalized treatment plan. At my practice, you will be treated individually, as a person(s) and not as a dollar sign or your illness. I enjoy treating patients of all ages. Sometimes in life you hit the bump in the road and need help to navigate in a new direction. Transitions are easier when you have support. This is true for adults, as well as children. Over the past 32 years I have helped many children,parents and adults become their best self by exploring what helps or hinders this process.

I strongly believe that the quality of the relationship a person has with their therapist is the most important factor for successful therapy. My work is holistic in nature, as I believe that all aspects of our lives have a huge impact on the way that we feel and how we function in the world. With guidance, coaching, and support, we will work together to help you to attain your goals and create a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

I have two offices which are professional yet homelike settings. They each have 3-5 stairs. I practice with an eclectic style but do utilize EMDR, CBT and DBT. I draw on clients strengths and empower the client to utilize their present skills. I specialize in trauma and substance abuse and also depression and anxiety etc. I am a co-occurring therapist. The goal is to improve self esteem and self worth and focus on the goals and objectives of the client. The initial visit is a time for the client to share their hopes and aspirations and create a plan that is challenging but attainable. The client will always feel supported.

I am currently accepting new clients for telehealth appointments only. Interpersonal connection is the basis for healing. I strive to create authentic relationships with my clients so that sustainable change can occur. Even if you're unclear on your specific desired outcomes from therapy, we can figure them out together. I currently work with teenagers and adults of all ages.

I believe we are all put here to fulfil the plans and purpose the Lord has for our lives. Sometimes along the way, we can get a little derailed or just not know how to quantify that. As we heal past hurts and areas of conflict, we can begin to dream again and find right where we need to be. It would be an honor to walk alongside you in your journey! I am an Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a Certified Temperament Christian Counselor through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).

My treatment orientation is cognitive-behavioral in nature meaning that we will mostly work on emotional awareness and understanding, acceptance, and coping skills. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients to work on their problems. I create an atmosphere that is relaxed and like to mix humor in when appropriate. I encourage my clients to express feelings and needs about their treatment so we can make changes to enhance treatment.

With more than 30 years of experience in the field of substance abuse, I am committed to helping those wanting to live healthier, more productive lives in their journey of recovery. I have a great deal of experience with both adolescents and adults, especially those struggling with legal issues related to their use. I am also interested in providing support for those affected by others' substance use. I work with children, adolescents, adults and groups. I practice with an eclectic approach combining Rogerian, Adlerian, Motivational Interviewing and a number of other evidence based techniques. To me, the work of therapy is to find the courage within to change the things that you can, the acceptance to live with what you cannot and most importantly, to figure out which is which!
