I am here to help get your life in balance. There are infinite ways in which this can happen. We will work to identify the pathway forward that is the most comfortable and appropriate for your situation. There are often aspects of your life that have layers interwoven below the surface of what may be presenting. Rarely is the journey linear or one solution that meets all your goals and needs. We say "It takes a village", I am here to help you through the process of change as you work to adjust, transition, and create the best version of yourself. I look forward to connecting and working with you.

I'm not accepting new clients but have a clinician in my practice who has some openings. My goal as a therapist is to help clients reduce suffering and increase personal freedom and power; my approach is collaborative, candid, playful, and deeply attentive. I often work with people who have experienced sexual trauma, intimate partner violence, and developmental trauma. I always give close attention to how oppressive systems can negatively impact individual mental health and well being. I am a Health At Every Size Clinician and committed to fat liberation. I have extensive experience supporting queer and gender queer folks.

We all have the capacity to experience more meaning and joy in our lives. I love helping clients move beyond their blocks to reach their own ability to find theirs. Every client is unique: having different needs, learning styles and histories. My goal is to honor the client's individual needs to find the most effective and appropriate approach in handling their treatment.

I believe that at the core of all of us is a desire to feel connected. Many things in life can contribute to a feeling of disconnection, including substance use disorder, trauma, or communication problems within relationships. I think the answers are already within each of us. Therapy is a way to unlock those answers so you can live freely and authentically. I believe in fostering a deeply caring, non-judgmental atmosphere where you can feel heard, seen, and supported. I meet people where they are and together, our work involves making incremental changes that improve your life.

I understand, I’ve been there. I’ve made my share of poor choices and bad decisions. Some more costly than others. Today, I draw from my personal experiences, along with providing over 20 years of professional substance abuse counseling to help folks navigate through difficult times. We’re really only a few steps away from starting to get back on track and the first one is always the most challenging. Whatever issues you may be experiencing right now, I can help. I specialize in DEEP, OUI, Probation, Deferred Disposition, Pre-trial and Bail Conditions.

Compassionate Curiosity is the Cure. This is the simple and straightforward explanation of my philosophy and approach to psychotherapy. My primary model for treatment is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, a classic model of treatment that focuses on reshaping core beliefs about self and others that often have deep and complex roots. I am a serious person by nature and take my work very seriously. Patients can expect challenging questions, thoughtfulness, and strong focus on getting to the bottom of unproductive thought patterns and habits (Curiosity), but with humor and caring (Compassion).

I believe empowering patients is the most effective way to create sustainable change. I believe my role in our relationship is to support you in both personal and emotional growth, at your pace. To be a catalyst. The therapeutic relationship is imperative for this to occur. I love people, and feel honored and humbled by those who entrust me to work along side them.

Did you ever watch Boy Meets World growing up? If yes, skip the next two sentences. If no, then let me set the scene. A 90’s sitcom about the wholesome, suburban Philadelphia Matthews family, who have two teenage sons. The older brother, Eric, bonks his younger brother, Cory, in the forehead and says “Life’s tough, get a helmet.” While I don’t condone violence, I do agree that life can be tough sometimes. While wearing a helmet is beneficial in a lot of scenarios (i.e. riding a bike), it is not so beneficial in the emotional, social, psychological, or theoretical realms.

I specialize in working with adults navigating intimate partner violence, substance use, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, complex trauma, and issues related to LGBTQIA+ identities and gender exploration. If you've experienced trauma and notice a disconnect between your thoughts (head) and your emotions (heart), I have found EMDR to be incredibly helpful and have seen amazing growth, healing and change. I'm trained in DBT and currently accept clients with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. I also work with clients who are healthcare workers, as well as individuals who are facing chronic or life limiting illnesses.
