But did you know that hypnosis has very effectively been used for stress management, "anxiety", fears and insomnia?
All hypnosis. All the time. That's all I do. I'm not a psychotherapist, I don't diagnose you and I don't "treat" you. I do, however, help you eliminate negative patterns, conquer obstacles, and take more control in your life through hypnosis and self-hypnosis.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, insomnia, substance use concerns, and life stressors.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to accomplish. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences while giving you plenty of space to share at your own pace.

I also treat sleep disorders.
CBT has been shown to be effective for many problems and is the only proven therapy for OCD. Many therapists say they do CBT, unfortunately they may actually be doing something else. I have extensive training in CBT and now my work includes providing training and supervision in CBT.

Maybe you've tried to improve your sleep on your own, only to find that the harder you try, the more difficult sleep seems to become.
Sleep difficulties often don't happen in isolation. Anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, caregiving, and difficult or traumatic experiences can affect both how we feel and how we sleep. When these concerns are part of the picture, therapy can help address them alongside the sleep problem. You don't have to navigate this alone.

I view people as multifaceted beings that are shaped by culture and circumstance, yet profoundly influenced by experience, relationships, and individual choice. This path we walk can be dark, but we don't have to walk it alone. Together, we can explore the complexity of this human experience, expanding awareness, inner understanding, and generating new growth.

If you’re feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or stuck you may also be feeling exhausted from overthinking, analyzing, critiquing yourself, comparing yourself to others, and replaying every conversation and interaction. Maybe you over extend to show up for others and ignore your own needs. Maybe you wonder why after all your efforts you feel so disconnected from yourself and others. Together, we will identify root causes, learn about your specific nervous system patterns, and uncover the many ways your system so brilliantly protects you.

Life can present many unexpected and sometimes overwhelming experiences that can linger in your body-mind, limiting your ability to live with a sense of joy, connection, safety and purpose. Whether it occurred during a single event or repeated trauma, recently or in childhood, it can have lifelong effects: anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, chronic health issues. Your history does not need to define you. In our work together, you will develop new pathways to promote a sense of well-being, health and resilience. You will learn practices to feel calm, curious, present and attend to what arises in your life.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
