Are you excited to talk about your sex addiction, porn addiction, sexual dysfunction & intimacy issues? If you said "yes," you'd be the first. Unfortunately, these issues may be running your life. And that shame deep in your bones? It's corrosive, and likely rooted in trauma (I'll be shocked if it's not). Fortunately, with the help of EMDR and other modalities, we can address these roots and move toward recovery. I also work with couples because I learned in grad school that, apparently, relationships are hard. There's infidelity, non-monogamy, mismatched libidos, the fact that your partner talks to his mom eight times a day...

I am passionate about working with couples to achieve a more intimate and satisfying relationship. In therapy, I work with each individual to identify issues that are interfering in achieving these and use a strengths-based approach to support clients to develop better ways of relating. When marriages fail, it is not increasing conflict that is the cause. It is decreasing affection and emotional responsiveness."- Sue Johnson, author of "Hold Me Tight." I help couples create emotional safety, heal past hurts, and learn to take emotional risks. Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) is a revolutionary approach to relationship therapy because it's not just about teaching couples to communicate differently, but instead about guiding them towards a new experience of themselves and each other. Relationships change and grow when we experience our partner in a new way and we learn to be responsive. I can help.

I offer presence and connection to support couples and individuals towards greater authenticity and fulfillment. I understand well the tremendous capacity for the psyche to accommodate unresolved trauma by intricate and patterned coping means. This tempers my approach towards one of gentle courage with clients. Together we learn to find a pacing that creates safety for making contact with what hurts. I am deeply interested in supporting the recognition of your intrinsic capacity to grow towards wholeness. This occurs through dialogue, active processing of emotions, and encountering your truth in the present.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
