Countless young people have reported feeling like their trauma is their fault, that they feel guilty or shameful of having been victimized. My experience spans across individuals, families, and groups within a wide array of therapeutic settings over the past decade. I use an integrative approach that supports not only my client’s willingness, but also their motivation to change. Concerns with life transitions, relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief can all be shared freely in this space. Additionally, my work and passion in the counseling field concentrates on sex therapy. Through the promotion of sex positivity and sex affirmation, those I work with can safely discover, explore, and examine their sexuality.

I help children and their families to develop a stronger sense of connection and confidence within themselves and with one another. We can work together to help you and/or your child or teen develop greater awareness of your emotions, thoughts and beliefs and develop the skills to communicate and manage them more easily together.

Camille Thayer LCPC-c is a conditionally licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at New England Family Institute, She has pursued an area of expertise in Family Systems as well as acquired her certification in Telehealth services. Her previous coursework included Counseling Children and Adolescents and has experience working with clients and who have survived trauma. Camille acquired certification for training in Trauma Work as well as IFS techniques. Camille also completed an Externship and certification for training in Emotion Focused Therapy.

If white knuckling, self shaming, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps and putting on your big girl panties worked, you’d be “cured” a billion times over. It doesn’t. At least not for me or people whose brains are different. Our minds race and it feels impossible to turn off and rest. Sometimes we use substances or other behaviors in a harmful way just to get through the day. There’s more to life out there. A more peaceful and meaningful life is possible.
