In our work together, all of you is welcome. I am honored to accompany you in your process of healing, understanding, and integrating your whole self - which may include parts of yourself that you’ve adapted to reject or disconnect from. My therapeutic orientation is relational, experiential, feminist, and trauma-informed. I use techniques from psychodynamic, person-centered, and emotion-focused therapies, mindfulness, and somatic modalities including hakomi and trauma-informed yoga. We'll collaboratively hold whatever comes up, even when those multiplicities seem to contradict each other, gently making space for all that's there.

My practice is both Telehealth and in-person at this time.
Life can change in an instant, and not always for the better. After a trauma it can be hard to sleep, concentrate, or feel safe, even after the danger has passed. Some people wonder if they will ever be able to have a day without thinking about what happened.

Positive change is always possible and change itself is inevitable. Therapy can allow for the types of changes you want by freeing yourself from patterns that lead to stress, conflict or withdrawal from life. Are you dissatisfied with life and do not know why? Having the courage to admit that life is not going well is the first step to changing what you need. I have more than a quarter century of working with multiple challenges with individuals, couples and families. There are lots of avenues one can explore in therapy to enable any individual, couple or family to get what they need.

I am a seasoned clinician who has worked with adults, couples and families for over 30 years. Increased awareness leads to increased options. Often the work of therapy is about making or repairing connections--interpersonal, internal or perhaps even spiritual. I provide individual adult psychodynamic psychotherapy; couples counseling: marital, pre and post divorce. I use a multi modal approach often including assessment and treatment from a family systems perspective and a psychodynamic perspective. I reserve a portion of my practice to provide a safe and intriguing space for children to express themselves and to be understood by adults. Facilitated parent-child sessions often help.

My practice is designed to work with people who feel overwhelmed or "stuck" in their current life situation. I begin with the understanding that everyone has struggles from time to time with primary relationships, work situations, financial stressors, unforeseen change of life circumstances or unresolved grief and loss. Common effects are anxiety, unexplained depression or loss of confidence. When these effects spill over into other areas of function, affecting sleep, clear thinking or enjoyment of regular activities, it is time to do some therapeutic "work" to put things in perspective and be able to move forward.

I pursued a career in therapy following my own quest for understanding and change in my mental and emotional health. I have dived deep into myself and life to learn how to overcome suffering and lead a self-directed life. I now have this personal experience to offer in addition to my clinical knowledge and experience allowing a unique depth of understanding and solutions I am able to provide to my clients.

Available for in-person and telehealth sessions on Friday's, 8-5.
Everyone needs someone to talk to about what they’re going through in their lives. As social creatures, we tend to turn to our friends, family, and partners to help us sort it out. Sometimes we’ll find ourselves telling the same stories and have awareness of what's going on, but unsure of what to do with that knowledge. Let’s try something different!

I believe that healing unfolds naturally when we create the right conditions to access our inner knowing. Blending talk therapy and experiential forms of therapy, I work with adults and teens ages 15+ experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment related concerns, life transitions, and trauma. Additionally, I support clients in exploring identity, particularly as it relates to sexual orientation, culture/ethnicity, and spirituality. I'm here to walk alongside you—not to fix or change you, but to support your own process of returning to self and coherence. I trust in the wisdom that already lives within you.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
