I work with individuals facing anxiety, trauma, and emotional overwhelm who want deeper healing beyond symptom relief. Many come after talk therapy falls short. Using art and expressive therapies, we help release stored emotions, process experiences, and reconnect with their authentic self.

I've worked in the behavioral health field since 2010, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate substance use, trauma, and relationship challenges.
Many people come to therapy because they want their life, relationships, or habits to better reflect who they truly want to be. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what matters most to you, and begin creating meaningful change. Hello, I’m Jason. I work with individuals, couples, and families who want to strengthen relationships, manage emotions more effectively, better understand how past experiences and trauma continue to shape their lives, and explore their relationship with substances. Together, we explore patterns that no longer serve you and develop healthier ways to cope, connect, and move forward.

Recovery and substance use, relapse prevention, depression, anxiety, and structured group therapy.
I work with individuals in ME, MA, & NH who are committed to their recovery and looking for more structure than traditional outpatient therapy provides. Many have completed higher levels of care and want to maintain the progress they’ve made. They often feel that weekly therapy alone isn’t enough and are seeking consistency, accountability, and a way to actively apply recovery in daily life. My work supports continued momentum with a clear and structured approach.

Many of the people I work with are navigating life transitions, experiencing anxiety, reexamining their relationship to substance use, and seeking a deeper understanding of their inner world.
I use practical and directive approaches that include gentle challenge and supportive strategies, helping clients feel empowered to create meaningful growth and lasting change. With couples, I draw from Gottman-informed strategies to support movement from disconnection toward deeper understanding and a more fulfilling relationship.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
