I approach therapy from a strong person centered perspective. I believe that all persons have the ability to change. I utilize an active listening, non-judgmental approach that allows clients to utilize their own native ability to solve their own problems. I believe that every person has a strong drive to expand and grow and to achieve their fullest potential. This potential can be frustrated by many of the challenges presented by life but it can never be eliminated. As I see therapy, it is a vehicle for a person to realize and release that innate potential.

My perspective encompasses each individuals broader context, acknowledging that personal struggles have roots in systemic factors such as ancestral trauma, racism and oppression.
My practice is rooted in the power of storytelling, guiding individuals to delve into their experiences and uncover the meanings hidden throughout. As we explore these narratives, how we view them can shift, often leading to transformative changes in how we perceive our lives. Weaving an integrative approach of evidence-based and holistic psychotherapy practices, I serve as a reflective guide, helping you identify patterns and stories that may limit your self-worth and authentic expression. My goal is to partner with you in discovering your authentic story within a supportive and trusting environment as you navigate your journey.

My top areas are ADHD, relationships, and trauma- but of course, I cover a wide variety of areas.
The therapeutic relationship indicates how successful therapy will be. I work hard to build a safe space, and a trusting connection with you- so that we can have the comfortability to work through some of the more difficult stuff. I’ve been told a few times that I’ve been the first therapist someone has been able to trust! Maybe I can be the same for you.

For those living with challenges like provider burnout, anxiety, depression, professional identity, addictions, effects of trauma, abuse, or low self esteem; online teletherapy can help with the added benefit of engaging with your therapist at a time and place that is not only convenient, but private.
Over 17 years in the field, I have seen rapid relief of my clients symptoms, and a better quality of life due to the difference therapy can make. I believe that connection with your therapist is very important. Without it, therapy isn't effective. I provide a safe and confidential place to say things you have always wanted to say but couldn't.

I often work with anxiety, trauma-related patterns, relationship issues, avoidance, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, and sexual behaviors or decisions that feel confusing or out of alignment.
Most people don’t come to therapy because they don’t understand what’s wrong. They come because they keep ending up in the same place, even when they’re trying not to. Maybe it’s the same argument with your partner, the same anxiety loop in your head, or the same moment where you shut down, react, avoid, or do something you regret. You may be insightful and self-aware, yet still feel stuck. That’s where we start. I’m a good fit for clients who want a therapist who will be compassionate and engaged, but who will also help name patterns clearly instead of only validating them

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
