We are each gifted... We are each wounded... Nobody escapes the extraordinary challenges of being human. What is it that is precious about my clients? How can we heal and release our unique gifts into this world? It is my calling to support your life's imperative to transform injuries, and become fully energized to all that life has to offer within which lies the revelation of your most empowered Self. I've raised three children in the wilds of Maine and trekked in remote cultures and wildernesses around the world; yet it is within us that lies the greatest wilderness, its adversities, traumas, challenges, and wonders to behold.

Many of my clients are people who may be struggling with emotional intensity, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, or grief. I draw from attachment-based therapy, parts work/IFS, ACT, CBT, and relational approaches depending on your needs.
Most people don’t come to therapy because they don’t understand what’s wrong. They come because they keep ending up in the same place, even when they’re trying not to. Maybe it’s the same argument with your partner, the same anxiety loop in your head, or the same moment where you shut down, react, avoid, or do something you regret. You may be insightful and self-aware, yet still feel stuck. That’s where we start. I’m a good fit for clients who want a therapist who will be compassionate and engaged, but who will also help name patterns clearly instead of only validating them

I’m here to guide you home to yourself. Coming into a civilization that values hyper-production and individualistic ways of being I became enlightened by the deep rooted connection and harmony the mind, body, and soul were craving. The suppression and imbalance of our innate human parts has created exhaustion and burnout that instills conditioning of shame, guilt and fear. My mission is to provide a meaningful safe space to shed these burdens, connect with the healing allies of nature and your own inner wisdom to remember how to be in alignment with your whole embodied Self and the world around you

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
