My ideal client is someone curious about their inner world, even if ambivalent about change. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, or repeating life patterns, and need both practical coping skills and insight into the beliefs that keep them stuck. Their goals often include breaking cycles, improving relationships, and building confidence in making intentional choices.Motivation helps, but I also value clients willing to be challenged when resistance arises.Homework and practice are essential, extending progress beyond sessions. Together we examine problematic patterns and explore the shadow, aiming for authentic, lasting change

First of all, I view all my clients' presenting issues as unhealthy yet normal adjustments to life problems. These adjustments have become problematic and created symptoms in the individual and in relationships. My goal is threefold: "stop the bleeding," seek healthier adjustments and, ultimately, to build a quality life of contentment and satisfaction. My orientation is existential and cognitive behavioral, with a specialty in clinical hypnosis and its many valuable applications.

In my calm, safe office, I am currently offering HIPAA secure Online video sessions using a HIPPA-compliant secure platform, in-person meetings or phone consultations. My 30 years of clinical experience have taught me about the courage those facing complex life difficulties bring to psychotherapy. Adults, children and adolescents are given help finding solutions. Mindfulness techniques which I have discovered the value of through a 25+ year meditation practice are also of benefit to clients who are looking to make life changes. CDC guidelines are followed in the office.

I believe that we all have an innate capacity for healing and growth. Therapy allows us to tune into our strengths and our inner resilience. My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed perspective where I strive to facilitate a safe and collaborative environment in which to explore healthier ways of being. I also believe that a relationship based on a foundation of trust is important so you feel comfortable to explore deeply personal issues, develop self-awareness, and embark on the process of personal growth.

Hi everyone! Are there wounds from the past that can't heal because people cared more about being right than your pain? Your experiences are truth. Here is a little about me and what I aim to achieve collaboratively with clients. I believe in effort and engagement being at the center of progress and success in the therapeutic process. I believe that my role is not to fix people, but to be a support and an empathetic challenger to negative behavioral and mental thought processes. I hope to provide a safe, non-judgmental space regardless of race, religion or sexuality, wherever you are in life. I look forward to meeting you!

Welcome—I'm glad you're here. My name is Dr. Margaret Morrison, and I’m a licensed psychologist with over 40 years of experience walking alongside individuals and couples as they navigate life’s challenges. I work with adults ages 21 and older and offer a collaborative, respectful, and often light-hearted approach to therapy. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected in your relationship, or simply seeking growth, I see therapy as a partnership. In our first session, we'll get to know one another and begin identifying the areas of discomfort or concern that you’d like to change. From there, we’ll explore those issues

Thirty years of practice taught me that therapy can be more than empathic listening and supportive talk but an active vehicle of empowerment and change. I have combined my foundational training in structural family and narrative therapies with the depth orientation of mindful insight and the action techniques of cognitive behaviorism. Working with individuals, couples/families, we collaborate to identify the patterns that reinforce relational conflict ("structures") and the repetitive stories told and heard about personal limitations ("narratives"). Then, with our combined wisdoms, we rewrite the script(s) to include greater meaning and motivation, humor and hope, compassion and clarity.

You may be carrying the weight of past experiences, constant stress, or self-doubt that keeps you from feeling like yourself. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted from holding it all together or struggling to find meaning after loss, trauma, or burnout. They’re high-functioning on the outside but anxious, disconnected, or unsure how to slow down. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Therapy can help you step out of survival mode, make sense of what’s happening, and begin to feel grounded again.
