I’m an eccentric, depth‑oriented therapist who blends radical honesty with a warm, grounded presence. I work with the unconscious, the body, and the patterns you’ve carried for years—often without realizing it. My approach is deeply trauma‑informed and somatically attuned, helping you understand how your story lives in both mind and body. If you’ve ever felt “too much” or misunderstood, this is a space where your complexity is welcomed and your truth can finally breathe.

I combine psychotherapy with holistic counseling to help you see a bigger picture for your life, and to help you change emotional, physical, and psychological upsets that interrupt the life you prefer to live.

Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, in a space that honors neurodiversity and is LGBTQ+ inclusive.
Hi, I’m Anthony. I work with adults in both Maine and Maryland who feel burned out, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same patterns—especially after trying therapy or doing a lot of self-work already. You may understand why you feel the way you do, but still find yourself overthinking, shutting down, or reacting in ways you can’t change. It can be frustrating to have insight but still feel stuck.

My practice is rooted in the power of storytelling, guiding individuals to delve into their experiences and uncover the meanings hidden throughout. As we explore these narratives, how we view them can shift, often leading to transformative changes in how we perceive our lives. Weaving an integrative approach of evidence-based and holistic psychotherapy practices, I serve as a reflective guide, helping you identify patterns and stories that may limit your self-worth and authentic expression. My goal is to partner with you in discovering your authentic story within a supportive and trusting environment as you navigate your journey.

I work with those searching for growth and transformation who experience depression, stress, anxiety, mood shifts, or the effects of trauma, as well as those who feel stuck in cycles of shame, self-doubt, or self-sabotage. Many are drawn to therapy not only to heal pain, but also to rediscover creativity, explore who they are, and emerge into a deeper relationship with life. Therapy can be a process of reconnection and a reclaiming of personal power. Together we can build self-compassion, decrease suffering, and untangle old patterns. We can learn to experience more aliveness, joy, and love for ourselves and others.

My practice especially welcomes LGBTQ+ folks, fat and body-diverse people, and neurodivergent people.
I don’t believe we can understand ourselves outside the context of our lives. We’ll get curious about what has shaped you—your relationships, history, identities, body, and the world you’ve had to navigate. We might follow a pattern, feeling, or thought we don’t quite understand yet. We don’t have to know where it’s going.

I am a queer therapist, and I welcome conversations and deeper work around the needs of our community.
Many of us feel like we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders…and we do! Our bodies and minds absorb our experiences all day, yet we don't often release this. Our stress affects our physical bodies as well as our minds, and it is important that we connect the two when we heal. There is such strong work in looking at the influences of past trauma, managing the stress or negativity that may be affecting life, and helping to rebuild the body and mind as safe places to be. I love to work with people who are ready for change, and who are ready to look inward. This is a vulnerable journey, but you don't need to do it alone.

50 years' experience in human services with training in spirituality and trauma, LGBTQIA care, military and veteran service, and supporting people with trauma, grief and loss across age and gender.
Trauma, loss, grief, disappointments, hurt and rejection happen to us all. It is part of the human experience. In fact, we do not grow or move forward in life without these difficulties. All our compassion, wisdom and internal strength come from the stressors of life when supported. But we do not always receive those supports, and may develop unhealthy strategies to cope, rather than moving forward towards greater strength and insight. It can cause a disconnect from your life, yourself and significant people who matter to you. The difference between building and tearing a muscle. You can learn to re-build with the right supports.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished - Lao Tzu . . . Nature holds everything and everyone. It is our society that comes with rules and expectations about who we should or shouldn't be, and that can cause great harm, stress, and grief. When were you last able to slow down and feel like yourself without any pressure to do or be anything else? My office setting is a garden with some woods for rambling. Natural spaces inherently help us tune into ourselves individually and as part of a web of life. Often our bodies and minds hold the wisdom we are needing. I invite you to explore and heal in partnership with nature.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
