I am trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, and several other methods.
I use a person centered approach to work on major mental health issues to build a sense of hope and empowerment. Dealing with major mental health issues can be daunting and isolating, and it can often feel like there is nowhere to turn for help. I am passionate about treating people with psychosis, OCD, and mood disorders (including bipolar disorder without psychosis) and helping people figure out what life looks like with a life long diagnosis. Empathy, respect, and lightheartedness are at the core of what I do and I believe they are the foundation of a healing relationship.

I believe every person is inherently wired for meaningful connection, yet life’s earlier experiences often create protective patterns that leave us feeling stuck or distant. With curiosity and compassion, I help clients gently explore and uncover these patterns—supporting deeper self-awareness, relational insight, and healing rooted in connection .

I'm licensed in Maine to work with both individuals and couples and hold additional certificates in Emotion Focused Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
NOTE: I have opened several slots for new couples starting in September '26. I specialize in relationships and enjoy working with couples, individuals, friendships, and relatives. My approach is grounded in the science of attachment and mindfulness, and I have extensive training in EFT and IFS. My belief is we are inherently wired for deep, meaningful connection, but the experiences we gather throughout life can shape how we relate to others, leading to patterns of protection and barriers to connection, and making it difficult to experience the ease and flow of truly fulfilling relationships.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
