Using unconditional, positive regard, support and strategies , the effect of anxiety, depression and trauma can lessen significantly.
Everyone needs support. Helping people work through the challenges that life holds is the deepest privilege. I believe in support, non-judgment, and providing space for people to make desired changes in their lives. Therapy can be hard work! Shorter term and focused on your goals tends to be the most beneficial for most people. How we understand ourselves and our place in the world is worth exploring.

This has been a time of great change for all of us. So to make life just a little easier, I've lowered fees to make therapy accessible to everyone, added TeleHealth for those impacted by COVID and/or who don't have a counselor nearby. For in-person visits, I even have a "therapy puppy" who is in training as a therapy dog. The benefits of therapy animals is well documented and our therapy dogs have been a great success with clients. I'm also a Maine and Florida licensed counselor with over 20 years of experience, specializing in depression , anxiety, stress, and trauma. Call/text or book right on line at www.TherapyInternational.com

I believe all human behavior is oriented toward growth, no matter how misguided or "crazy" it may seem. Perhaps you feel out of balance with your emotions, relationships, work, or spirit. You may be experiencing a crisis, a life transition, or simply desire to know yourself better. My practice is limited to individual psychotherapy with adults. I'm trained to work with anxiety, depression , and trauma, as well as the deeper unconscious influences to emotions, thoughts, and behavior. Our work is guided by your specific concerns and what you wish to change. My aim is to provide a safe and respectful space for self-exploration.

I provide treatment for individuals struggling with depression , anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment and transition issues, relationship concerns, substance abuse disorders and post-traumatic stress.
Whatever brings someone to therapy, it generally includes some form of pain, dissatisfaction, or discomfort, and a disconnect between what is happening their life and what they want. Our work together will help to shed light on why you are struggling, and support you as you make changes, drawing on your strengths to find an approach that is more effective and aligned with how you want your life to be. I believe that effective therapy starts with a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental emotional space where clients can feel heard and understood and my work is grounded in developing a strong therapeutic relationship.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
