I work with adults and adolescents who are carrying more than they let on whether that's anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or a complicated history with substances. You might feel stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed by things you can't quite name, or exhausted from holding it together on the outside. You don't need to have it figured out before reaching out. My practice is a judgment-free space where we slow down, get honest, and start building something different.

Everyone struggles with mental health and relationship challenges—but how you experience them is uniquely yours. Therapy is where we lighten that load and turn those struggles into opportunities for growth and healing. I provide a space for this exploration, one where you can get personal and vulnerable, laugh and cry, sometimes even curse and yell, and also informational and straight to the point. Together, we would do this by building trust and learning how our body-mind connection impacts our mental health.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and mindful techniques to help individuals in each therapy session.
One of the most critical components of effective therapy is developing a connection with your therapist. My top priority is making people feel comfortable in sessions and working towards achieving the different goals they have for therapy. My clients are able to share their thoughts and experiences through a non-judgmental and safe environment that I strive to cultivate. I often hear people in therapy say “I don’t know what to do. My anxiety is controlling my life.” Others have said, “My depression is so debilitating” or “I just need someone to talk to because I feel my relationships are spiraling out of control.

You've spent time trying to understand why you feel the way you do, yet still feel stuck. You may be navigating trauma, anxiety, shame, depression, relationship challenges, or a stressful season of life. Therapy can help you build insight into your patterns while also supporting deeper emotional integration so that understanding can be felt and lived differently. I work with individuals who are ready to move beyond insight alone into lasting change. If your inner critic is loud, perfection feels exhausting, or you feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can be a space for reconnection, self-compassion, and healing.

My clients often look like they are holding it together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or exhausted underneath. They may be navigating trauma, identity questions, relationship patterns, family stress, life transitions, low motivation, or difficulty following through. Many are thoughtful and self-aware but still feel caught in patterns they cannot fully explain. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and begin moving forward with more clarity and self-trust.

No matter why you’re seeking counseling, we all need time to love every part of ourselves. It’s hard to embrace the anxious part when it’s been in control all week—but not impossible. Therapy can open many doors, some exciting, some scary, and we’ll face them together. When people ask what kind of therapy I do, I say: “Whatever works best for my client in that moment.” My approach is flexible and person-centered, drawing from CBT, DBT, IFS, and solution-focused practices.

I use mindfulness and somatic techniques to encourage emotional expression, and employ some psychodynamic techniques to examine and help you move past old patterns that no longer serve you.
Therapy can be a revelatory process and can bring you back to your authentic self. I'm a therapist specializing in working with sensations and signals in the body, to help you out of your head and toward growth and your next right step. I have expertise in healing from a range of family experiences and relationships from not the best to toxic. I'm adept at working toward the realest version of you, leaving behind what no longer works and helping you build strategies for growth. Change is never easy, but it's doable with grace, humor, and a strong therapeutic relationship you can count on.

Most people that I see in my practice do not have an emotional or psychological illness but are faced with professional or relationship issues that are causing personal distress. These issues when not understood and dealt with can create symptoms of anxiety, depression and a loss of satisfaction in personal, professional, and intimate relationships. They can also interfere with the full expression of a person's unique abilities and the fulfillment of his or her goals.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
