I believe that everyone is capable of healing, growth, and resiliency. Although life is constantly changing and moving, I believe that each person can achieve the life and level of happiness they desire through self-exploration and a deeper look into their experiences. I work from an experiential based, relational/attachment model to support your healing journey and to strengthen self-awareness. I use a variety of modalities through a trauma-informed perspective, including Art Therapy, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing.

This practice is only accepting MBCT group clients at this time. Life can be difficult. We frequently face challenges that push us to our limits, making it difficult to cope and see options. During hard times it is helpful to have increased support and guidance. I am a Licensed Psychologist and have been in practice since 2005. In my work, I strive to be empathic, encouraging and challenging, assisting clients in making significant life changes. I pride myself in being a strong listener who will work to understand you and respond without judgment.

Welcome! It takes energy and courage to search for a therapist who is a good fit for you. Therapy can help you feel more connected, further develop your purpose, reduce your self-doubt, and develop more effective ways of coping. At times it can be helpful to develop insight and awareness into thought patterns, stuck emotions, or relational patterns from your past, so you can work through them toward acceptance *and* action toward change. Insight alone isn't always enough, so it's important for us to work toward helping you translate that insight into the change & growth you hope for. I strive to create a non-judgmental, safe space.

Self care makes you feel superstitious. You aren’t opposed to therapy per se rather you are agnostic regarding your ‘healing.’ Re-telling the origin story of your pain again bores you, you figure that’s a definite red flag to recovery. Mindfulness exercises are interesting but not life-changing. Like carnival rides they are too short and have nothing to do with your real world. Years ago talk therapy felt as deep as dishwater, uncomfortable and without an endgame. You wonder if you are impervious to therapy, an idea that leaves you deflated.

Congratulations on taking steps toward establishing a more fulfilling, healthy, and successful life! In therapy, I work collaboratively with you to enhance your understanding of the internal and environmental factors that impact life, emerge as relational patterns, and potentially impede success. I offer a safe, comfortable space for the exploration of your concerns, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and understood. I enjoy working with diverse clients: of varying backgrounds and therapeutic needs. Though trained as a generalist, I sought additional education, practica, and research opportunities to develop the specialties of 1) counseling traditionally marginalized populations, 2) program development and evaluation, and 3) consultation and outreach.

There are times when we all require additional support; someone to accompany you in a time of difficulty or just to improve your sense of well-being. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey between therapist and client, exploring the client's inner world, developing insight, and simply deepening self-understanding using a compassionate and strength-based approach.

My approach is anchored in a strengths-based perspective, utilizing well-researched and effective methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. These techniques, coupled with a genuine, supportive therapeutic relationship, are designed to help you rediscover and reclaim what you feel has been missing or lost in your life and relationships.

Spill the tea! It can be difficult to discuss what is truly going on in your head. It may seem like you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to work, at least not for very long. It can be scary to reach out to a counselor because you are not sure that you can find someone that you can really connect with and help you make changes in your life.
